CACFP makes a difference, let's strengthen it NAFCC says.
I recently came upon some work that the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC) did regarding CACFP and the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Bill this past year and was really interested to see that NAFCC asked Congress in a position paper to "Strengthen CACFP through the Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization Research and real-life experiences in family child care homes show links between child health, nutrition, and obesity and the devastating impacts of child hunger. NAFCC members know that every day, families are counting on them. Family child care providers are counting on the support of CACFP."
In this paper NAFCC spoke of CACFP making a difference; "CACFP Makes a Difference In family child care, CACFP matters not only for the financial support for healthy meals and snacks, but as a framework for quality, and a big part of NAFCC members’ commitment to quality. Research has shown CACFP to be effective at reaching family child care providers, enhancing quality, and supporting the needs of children and families." Personally, I really enjoyed reading the family child care provider NAFCC members quotes about CACFP. Read more about CACFP making a difference via NAFCC.
Eva Daniels, Presdent of NAFCC seems to be everywhere building CACFP and Child Care partnerships and most of all taking ACTION! What a great partner the National Association of Family Child Care has been to the Child and Adult Care Food Program this year. Let's keep this momentum going and support this national organization the way they have been supporting CACFP. One way would be to promote the National FamilyChild Care Association Institute. Lets get the word out to our providers, or maybe sponsor a scholarship to send one of your providers to the Institute. As a CACFP Sponosr trying to get a handle on the new Family Child Care professional, come and network with them on their turf at the NAFCC Intstitute. Yes, its worth CACFP take ACTION Challenge points and CACFP Recognition.
The National Association of Family Child Care Institute is coming to California-tell your providers about this fantastic opportunity to attend this National Institute in California.More about the NAFCC Institute in San Diego, 2016 may be found here.
If you were wondering;there are a couple of NAFCC Challenges in the CACFP take ACTION Challenge and NAFCC is getting their CACFP recognition points with Group 4, Educate and Advocate and of course, the #GimmeFive Dance!
